Obituary of John P. Mariotti

John P. Mariotti, age 70, of Howard Beach, NY, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 22, 2026.

He was the son of the late Vincenzo Mariotti and the late Elisabetta (D'Armi) Mariotti. Devoted husband of 47 years to Madeline (Grillo) Mariotti.

Loving father of Lisa (Frank) Cantalino and John V. Mariotti. Beloved grandfather (PopPop) to Frankie Cantalino and Fiona Cantalino.

Professionally, John was an NYPD 1st Grade Detective and a 911 First Responder. He was a very active man before his illnesses who loved bowling, golfing, riding his motorcycle and bike, taking long walks, fixing/repairing cars and equipment, inventing gadgets, cooking and grilling.
John will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His kindness, devotion to his family, willingness to help others (family, friends, and neighbors) will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. His memory will be forever cherished and kept alive in the love and stories shared by his family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital in John's memory.

The visitation for John will be held at Marine Park Funeral Home on Sunday, March 1, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. 

Funeral mass will be on Monday, March 2, 2026 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. 100-05 159th Avenue Howard Beach, NY

Committal service will immediately follow to St. Charles Cemetery. 2015 Wellwood Avenue Farmingdale, NY 11735.
