Andrew Di Fusco

Obituary of Andrew F. Di Fusco

Andrew F. Di Fusco, 57, of Brooklyn, NY, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Andrew was born August 14, 1968 in New York, NY. He is the son of Vincent and Carol (nee Geer) Di Fusco.

Andrew is an alumnus of Xaverian High School, Brooklyn, NY, Class of 1986. He then went on to study Architecture at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art before attending and graduating from John Jay College of Criminal Justice with a BS in Fire Science. Andrew was a multifaceted individual with a diverse range of abilities, interests, and talents spanning writing, architecture, sculpture, woodworking, and inventing.

A retired Supervising Fire Marshal for FDNY, Andrew dedicated his professional life to protecting lives. His work demanded courage, discipline, and an unwavering sense of responsibility, qualities he possessed in abundance. As Director of Training at the Bureau of Fire Investigation, Andrew didn’t simply enforce standards; he shaped them. He mentored, educated, and prepared others so that they, too, could serve with excellence and integrity.

Andrew’s commitment to service reached one of its most profound expressions on September 11, 2001, when he answered the call as a first responder. Like so many heroes of that day, he stepped forward without hesitation, guided by duty and selflessness.

Andrew was a lifelong student and teacher. He earned a master’s degree from the Naval Postgraduate School at the Center for Homeland Defense and Security, an achievement reflecting both his intellect and his dedication to the greater good. As an adjunct professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, he passed on his knowledge to future generations, shaping minds with the same care and importance with which he approached every responsibility in his life.

Andrew lived a life of service. His memory and teachings will continue in the lives he touched and the values he instilled.

Andrew is survived by his wife Lidice (nee Ramirez) Di Fusco.

Devoted father of Lindsay Di Fusco (Tyler,) Andrew Di Fusco and Luciano Di Fusco.

Cherished brother of Vincent Di Fusco (Sue) and Brian Di Fusco.

Beloved uncle of Cullen, Kaileigh, Audrey and Max.
