Obituary of Arlene Jane Terranova
Arlene Jane Terranova, age 77, of Brooklyn, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2025. Born on March 9, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY, Arlene was the daughter of the late Herman and Jennie (nee Segreto) Witthohn.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Peter Terranova, with whom she shared many years of love and partnership.
She leaves behind her loving stepchildren-- Peter Terranova, Angela Piro and Denise Cusumano. As well as her eight cherished grandchildren: Gianna Terranova, Peter Terranova, Matthew Ciago, Michele Hayes, Jonathan Ciago, Jessica Benson, Michael Cusumano, and Alyssa Cusumano, and five beloved great-grandchildren. Arlene found immense joy in her family and treasured every moment with them.
In addition, she leaves behind her loving brother, Bob Witthohn, and her dear cousins, Ricky and Carol.
Arlene had a gentle heart and a special affection for her cats, especially Queenie. She could often be found feeding the birds outdoors, never missing a single day and enjoying the peacefulness of nature. Arlene was well known in her community for her warm heart and gentle spirit. She was especially known for her compassion toward the neighborhood cats. Her kindness extended beyond her home and touched everyone who knew her.
She will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, December 10 from 2:00 – 7:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, Inc., 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn, NY.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, December 11 at 9:30 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas RCC, 1550 Hendrickson St, Brooklyn, NY 11234.
Burial to immediately follow in St Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale.
