Nicholas Grillo

Obituary of Nicholas Grillo

It is with broken & heavy hearts that we share the passing of the most amazing, incredible & remarkable man, our dad Nicholas Grillo, on September 17, 2025. Nicholas was born on July 6, 1945, to parents Genevieve and Joseph Grillo in Brooklyn, New York. He grew up in a loving home alongside his four siblings—three sisters and one brother.

Nicholas was a man of incredible heart, compassion & wisdom. Nicholas proudly served in the U.S. Army for three years, a duty that instilled in him a deep love for his country.
He was a lifelong learner whose intelligence & love for education defined his career. He approached his calling with passion & dedication. His commitment to his profession led him to earn three master's degrees and eventually transition into an administrative role working within the superintendent office where he advocated for special education students. He was a proud educator who dedicated over 30 years to the service of children
On October 10th 1971, Nicholas married the love of his life and soul mate Rosetta Scalmato, beginning a beautiful partnership & love story built on love, trust & admiration. Their unconditional love was the foundation of a life filled with joy, laughter, and devotion.

Together, they built a life filled with togetherness & family. They were blessed with two devoted daughters Carmela & Concetta who were the pride of their lives.

After retiring, Nicholas and his beloved wife Rosetta focused on their greatest joy which was spending time with their beloved four grandchildren. He found immense happiness in his role as a grandpa- Pappa to his adoring grandchildren Aliana, Enzo, Nicholas, and Juliana. He adored & loved them deeply and was a constant presence in their lives, always with the most loving smile & world's greatest hugs. He is their role model, inspiration & greatest champion. He was always eager to teach, play, and offer his wisdom & sage advice.

Nicholas lived a life of selflessness, integrity, compassion & kindness. He was a man whose love for his family and friends knew no bounds. His generosity was boundless, always offering a helping hand or a listening ear. He was a devout man of faith, always finding strength in his belief in God.

Nicholas fought a courageous battle over the last three years, enduring the challenges of cancer and other medical issues. Through it all, he remained the strongest, bravest man we know, showing incredible grace, resilience, an unyielding spirit & will power.

Nicholas Grillo is now reunited in heaven with his beloved beautiful wife Rosetta whom he missed dearly every day. He is survived by his daughters Carmela and Concetta, his son Vincent, four loving grandchildren Aliana, Enzo, Nicholas and Juliana, his siblings and many loving family members and friends whom was blessed to know & love him. His legacy of love, strength, and unwavering faith will live on forever in our hearts.

Rest easy in eternal peace, Daddy you are our hero. You are truly our Superman, our lives & the world is a better place because of you.
