Obituary of Salvatore Savettiere
Salvatore Savettiere, age 91, of Brooklyn, New York, entered into eternal rest on August 24, 2025. Born on July 1, 1934, in Brooklyn, Salvatore was the beloved son of the late Carl and Mary (Rollino) Savettiere. A lifelong Brooklyn resident, he was a man deeply devoted to his faith, family, and country.
Salvatore proudly served in the United States Army from August 2, 1957, to August 4, 1959, and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal for his honorable service.
Devoted and loving husband of Greer (Greber) Savettiere, his cherished partner for nearly 54 years in marriage and 60 years in life together. Their union was a testament to love and commitment.
A loving father, Salvatore is survived by his daughters, Marie Marzigliano (Vinny) and Jessica Geraci (Michael). He was a proud and doting grandfather to Vincent, Juliana, and Salvatore, who brought immense joy to his life. He also had a special affection for his beloved "furry" grandchildren, Annie and Roxie, who brought him so much joy. Salvatore cherished their companionship and loved them deeply.
Salvatore was the dear brother of Tina, Annette, the late Rosemarie, the late Joseph and the late Gloria.
His strong family bonds and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A devout Catholic, Salvatore lived his life guided by faith, humility, and kindness.
He will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family.
Reposing on Friday, August 29 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:30 AM on Saturday, August 30 at St. Thomas Aquinas R.C. Church, 1550 Hendrickson Street, Brooklyn.
Burial to immediately follow to Ocean View Cemetery, Staten Island.
