Obituary of Elaine Mormando

Elaine Mormando, age 86, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. Born on April 4, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York, she was the beloved daughter of the late Alfred and Mary (Pelligrino) Hoffman.

Elaine was the devoted wife of nearly 60 years to the late Richard Mormando. She was a loving mother to Suzette Liguori (Joseph), Anthony Mormando (Lori), and Nicole Kelly (Kevin). Her greatest joy was her role as a grandmother to Renee, Alexa, Dana, Jillian, Mia, Brian, and Victoria, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond.

Elaine was known for her spirited personality and strong will. She was a fiercely devoted matriarch who played an active role in the lives of her grandchildren, helping raise some of them and pouring her heart into every moment spent with family. To Elaine, family was everything—and her love and strength will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Reposing on Monday, August 18 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn.

Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 19 at Good Shepherd R.C. Church, 1950 Batchelder Street, Brooklyn.

Burial to follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, New Jersey.
