Bassam Alchiek

September 5, 1948 – June 5, 2025

It is with profound sorrow and deep love that the family of Bassam Alchiek announces his peaceful passing on June 5, 2025, in Brooklyn, New York, at the age of 76.

Born on September 5, 1948, in Maaret Saidnaya, Damascus, Syria, he was the son of the late Ghattas Alchiek and Bektouria Ead Alchiek. He spent his early years in his cherished homeland before pursuing higher education. He earned a Bachelor of Degree in Business and Economics from Beirut Arab University.

In 1980, he was united in holy matrimony with Genevieve Khoury, a civil engineer. Together, they built a life defined by love, honor, and unwavering commitment to family.

Bassam was a man of principle, discipline, and remarkable integrity. He possessed a deep passion for poetry, agriculture, architecture, and business. A builder both in profession and in spirit, his life’s work was marked by dedication—not only to his craft but to his loved ones. His quiet wisdom, enduring strength, and compassionate heart touched all who knew him.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Genevieve, and their four beloved children:

   •   Dr. Ghattas Alchiek, DDS, and his family

   •   Architect Iyad Alchiek and his family

   •   Dr. George Alchiek, DDS, and his family

   •   Madona Alchiek, PharmD

He was the proud grandfather of Bassam, Madona, Geny, Michael, and Rita, whose lives he blessed with love and guidance.

Bassam is also mourned by his dear siblings:
