It is very comforting reading all these loving tributes for Molly. No one ever met her that didn’t love her. Her warmth and smile melted your heart and if you were family or friend….you were so lucky. When Molly (and her brother Jackie) arrived in the USA
In 1957 their first stop was the Duffy home in the Bronx, NY….they almost instantly became part of our family and I should add eventually Molly became the sister I always wanted and my parents always felt that they were theirs and those feelings continued forever. These past years after Jr. passed Molly and I would phone talk sometimes daily or at least four or five times a week. We were never lost for talk because of all the wonderful (and yes sad too) times that we shared together. I loved when Jr and she would visit in North Carolina…..the good times continued the food, the card playing and sight seeing but mostly the laughter never stopped and many of those times my brother Jim and his Hilda would visit the same time adding to the joy….oh happy memories
they are the gift that always brings joy. So dear Molly you know we are all going to miss you more than words can describe..
Rest peacefully and happily Molly ….. say hi to all our family and friends until we all meet again.
Mary (Duffy) Sotardi

Nora & Tom what happy memories we have of our childhood in Mitchelstown. The great fun we had putting on plays for everyone & uncle Miko taking plenty of photos. I still remember getting dressed up & practicing for days. It was our own little theatre. Molly was great to encourage everyone to take part in some way. Your grandmother would sit beside Molly and they applauded even if we weren't too good. Thinking of you all at this time. RIP Molly

Tom & Nora, I remember many nights spent in O’Grady’s in Mitchelstown, dressing up and putting on our play, with Molly in the front row of the audience cheering us on and clapping. Fond memories, may she rest in peace. Tricia (Skinner)

I lived next door to Molly my whole life. I have so many fond memories of Jr and Molly. She was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met with a heart of gold. She would take us Christmas caroling and the tips we collected she would always donate. We always looked forward to the end of the night when we would go back to her house and she would make delicious hot chocolate with marshmallows. Also, when our parents would go out on a Saturday night me and my sibling would have pillow fights in our room and Molly would knock on the wall because we would wake up her children. Molly never told our parents, but the next day in church she would give us a look and we knew she was upset with us. Molly and Jr being Irish and my parents Laura and Frank Fumo Italian never mattered to them. My mom would cook Italian dishes and bake all the time and always give some to Molly. She always loved everything and would compliment my mom how great of a cook she was. Molly would bake and bring to my parents as well. They were very close neighbors and still spoke to each other up until very recently. Molly was a kind hearted person and would be there for us anytime we needed her. I won’t ever forget her. To Thomas and Nora, I’m very sorry for all the loss you have gone through in your family. Mom and Dad and Kieran are all together again. May she rest in eternal peace. Xo♥️ Love, Lisa Fumo Guigno

I’m so sorry to hear about Molly’s passing. My childhood memories are filled with moments of Molly laughing and having tea with my mom. As an adult, Molly always welcomed me with love and kindness! She was truly a blessing to all ! She will be missed. May all her memories comfort you in your grief. Prayers and sympathy for the McKinney family.

John and I were so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother.
We loved calling down to the house.
The front door was always open and everybody was welcome. Molly was the one who taught me how to make Irish scones. The last time I came to visit her I brought her Irish stew and I made the scones expecting criticism but as always she was full of love and compliments. She will be greatly missed. She was a great character and a storyteller. We live in New York but we visited Molly and Juniors home in Donegal and what a welcome we had.
Rest in peace Molly... at last you will be reunited with the love of your life Junior and your son and grandson.

I have been friends with Molly since 1982 when I went on holidays to NY with my friends Nick and Ger and Molly looked after us. Later Molly got to know Una our friend and since then we have all been in contact with her and meeting her here on her visits home.
The photo is at my wedding in 1985 in county Waterford where Teresa my wife is from. And the five of us have been great friends since. Molly has brought humour and cheer to all of us over all these years and we will miss her great company and sense of fun.
May she rest in peace and God bless you Molly and Junior now back together again in Heaven.

When we were younger, Molly was in Donegal and we were coming up from Limerick to visit her. When we arrived she had the warmest welcome to her beautiful home, but she had our Grandad Larry inside waiting to surprise us all. She was a wonderful great auntie. She so kindly had me stay with her in Brooklyn on a visit I had. Molly had so much love for everyone she met.

Dear Tom and Nora, so sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. She was a very special person. I have beautiful memories of when your parents moved in the neighborhood. They didn't have you kids yet, so your mom helped out our mom by entertaining us in her home. My fondest memory was of her trying to teach us how to sew doll clothes (but ended up making us a whole wardrobe for our Barbies). It was so wonderful growing up next to all of you. I know you have had your share of heartaches and I am praying for you and that your mom and dad are dancing together in heaven. God bless you. Love, Eleanor

I'm so so sad. A more gracious woman you could not find. We had the lucky opportunity to visit Molly and Junior when we went to Ireland 9 years ago. The McKinney's treated us so well, as did their neighbors. Their kindness knew no bounds. The McKinney family has always been our family and now Molly has rejoined Junior, and Heaven is happy. The East 34th Street Gang is reunited. Sending hugs to Nora, Thomas and their families. Rest in Jesus' arms Molly McKinney. Tell all the ones we love that they are missed, and tell Junior, I put his face on that "Facebook thing" anyway. Xoxo
