Obituary of Jose Contreras

Jose Contreras, age 96, of Ecuador, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025 in Brooklyn. Mr. Contreras was born September 30th, 1928. In his native Ecuador he worked aboard the Rosa Elvira vessel for many years. 

Mr. Contreras preceded in death by his beloved wife Teresa Contreras.

Loving father of Julio Contreras and Theresa (Anthony) Colombo, beloved grandfather to Michael, Anthony and John.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, May 21 from 4:00 – 9:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, Inc., 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn, NY.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 AM Thursday, May 22 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2992 Ave. S, Brooklyn, NY 11229.

Burial to follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale.
