Obituary of Matthew A. Peres

Matthew A. Peres, beloved husband, devoted family member, and proud Army veteran, passed away on February 18, 2025, at the age of 78.

Matthew was the cherished husband of Lucille Peres, with whom he shared 49 wonderful years of marriage. He was the loving brother of the late John Peres and the dear Godfather of Dana Martino. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom he adored.

A dedicated serviceman, Matthew proudly served in the United States Army. He built a life in Rockaway Point, where he had lived since his 30s. He had a passion for fishing and could often be found by the water, enjoying the peacefulness of the ocean. His presence in the community, his kindness, and his unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The visitation for Matthew A. Peres will be held at Marine Park Funeral Home on Monday, February 24, 2025 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM - the family will be gathering at the funeral home by 9:30 AM. The Committal Service will be private.
