My condolences to Gerard and the family. My fondest memory of Father Ralph was when he came up with the idea of a Rosary Council for our Rosary Society at St. Bernards. All the ladies were up in age and no one wanted to be in charge any more. He got a group of 5 women who ran the meeting and then he got a few young moms from the school to do all the things that required work. He always attended our meetings. He was very devoted to his cat, Hayou. I'm thankful his suffering is over and he can now rest in peace. I hope Dolores and Mary throw him a Happy 75th Birthday party in heaven. Father Ralph came to Queen of Angels when I was in 7th grade. His love and his spiritual support guided me through my formative years and well into adulthood. I can honestly say I stayed on the right path (with a few very bad turns!) because he was a part of my life at such an early and important time. I will never forget him. My husband Jan and I extend our deepest condolences to Gerard and Father Ralph's family and friends. Rose & Jan Deptula

He was our priest I the 90s and was the priest who blessed me with first Communion and confirmation sacraments at Queen of Peace RC Church in Queens. May he rest in peace.

Ralph was a classmate and friend. He embraced his priesthood joyfully, and his warm personality and faith touched his friends and parishioners. He was a nexus, too, for his classmates who had maintained contact and a catalyst for re-engagement for those who had lost touch. His serenity in his long final illness was a testament to a profound spirituality. God bless, Ralph.
