John was a great friend. We had great times together over the last 5 or 6 years. He was an easy going guy. A true friend when I needed one. I pray I was the same to him. I will miss him greatly.

John was a great cavalryman who fought alongside many of us in the 7th Squadron, 17th Air Cavalry. John has gone to where all cavalrymen eventually go, a special section of heaven named "Fiddler's Green." John, we will be coming to join you.
John will be missed by all. He brought laughter and kindness to all that knew him. We must never forget the ones with whom we served, they are not forgotten.
