Obituary of Eileen Moran-Fitzgerald

Eileen Moran -Fitzgerald of Breezy Point passed away on Thursday morning November 16, 2017 at Calvary Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Greenpoint NY to Harry & Helen Moran,When she was a young girl her family relocated to Ozone Park Queens. After graduating John Adams High School she took a position with the former Bankers Trust where she was an Account Manager, a position she held until she began her career as a full time mother.

She met her late husband John in Hunter Mountain and they were married in  August  of 1970. Together they enjoyed 49 years of marriage, raising three sons. They purchased their first home in the Marine Park section of Brooklyn and then purchased a summer residence in Breezy Point. They then built a new home making Breezy Point their full time residence. Together her and John enjoyed all that Breezy had to offer, friends, beach, Mardi Gras, spending quality time with family and friends and  creating memories that can never be taken away.

Once her children were grown Eileen went to work for  the  Federal Government as an Account Executive working for National Park Service out of Floyd Bennett Field. After retirement her and John took to travelling and spending winters in Florida. Eileen enjoyed the simple pleasures that life offered, the sun, the beach, an occasional glass of wine, but mostly her greatest joys came from spending time with her family. Her door was always open, she never said no if you wanted to come down to the beach. She would greet you with her warm smile and a kiss on the cheek.

Eileen was fiercely  independent, never wanting to inconvenience anyone. She would find a way to get where ever she needed to go without asking anyone to take, aside from her sister in law Maryanne when it came to shopping..  As much as she loved her 3 children they did not compare to the love she showed to her 8 grandchildren. She radiated whenever she spoke about them, she looked forward to watching and spending time with them. They meant the world to her..

Eileen is survived by her sons John James and his wife  Adrea, of Woodbridge VA,  Daniel Joseph and his wife Jeanine of Breezy Point,  William Moran Fitzgerald and his wife Brianne of Neponsit, , her brother Kevin Moran and his wife Cecilia. Her older sister Patricia pre deceased her. She was the loving grandmother to John Thomas, Liam, Ryan, Daniel Bailey,  Fiona,Finn,  Will and Nuala. She will also  be remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and her brother and sister in laws.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated for Eileen on Monday at 11:00AM at ST. Thomas More Church Breezy Point. Interment will follow Mass in Holy Cross Cemetery where she will reunited with her husband John. Family and Friends are asked to call Saturday from 7-9 PM and Sunday from 2-5 & 7-9 PM at the Marine Park Funeral Home 3024 Quentin Road.
