Dr. Anton Pfaffle

Obituary of Dr. Anton E. Pfaffle

Dr. Anton E. Pfaffle died February 24, 2017 in Brooklyn. He was 85. The son of the late Anton & Margaret, he was born February 16, 1932 in Manhattan, raised in the Bronx. After graduating high school, Anton enlisted with the US Army. Serving in the Korean Conflict, he was a member of the esteemed CIC division, what we would term today as the CIA. After returning home from the service Dr. Pfaffle served as Director of Risk Management with Mobil Oil Co., retiring under the same title with Goldman Sachs. During his esteemed career Dr. Pfaffle earned revered titles in his field such as CLU (Charter Life Underwriter) and CPCU (Charter Property & Casualty Underwriter). One would think that a man with such impressive titles, positions and a family would either run from more responsibility or yearn for solitary time but not Anton. His credentials, knowledge and driven desire to ensure the ultimate success of his only son led him to the classroom evenings after work at Brooklyn College, Kingsborough and the College of Insurance as a Professor. Survivors include his Beloved wife Rosemary. His son Dr. Antony Pfaffle along with his wife Linda. Devoted grandfather of Alexandra, Cameron and Antony. Dear brother of Ann Marie D'Angelis along with her husband Michael. Special brother in law and compassionate friend of Edward Reilly.
