Obituary of Gerard R. Simms

Gerard (Jerry) Simms, born on September 21,1961, in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, Unexpectedly passed away on May 14, 2015 at the age of 53. Jerry is survived by his Father Bob; his Stepmother Susan, his Soulmate Josephine, His three children Ashley, Christopher, and Nicholas. Also Survived by, his brother Robert, sisters Kelly and Stacey. Beloved Uncle of Eleven niece’s and nephews and loved by so many. Jerry Graduated from Queens Vocational high school in 1979 at 18 years old. In 1983 he became a dedicated employee of The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey. Jerry took pride in all of his attributes as an Operational Group Supervisor for Real Estate Services. Jerry was an avid sports fan, also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, along with taking long road trips to warm climates. He was also a problem-solver who often took on difficult and unwanted projects, along with a contagious laugh and a smile that lit up any room he walked into. Jerry had no enemies, he was loved by so many. He was a spiritual man, with a passion for coaching little league with his sons. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. A funeral service is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. and 7p.m.-9 p.m. at Marine Park Funeral Home located on 3024 Quentin road, Brooklyn, NY 11234.
